Seealpsee in the Appenzellerland

The well-known Seealpsee is located in the Alpstein area at an altitude of 1141 meters above sea level and above the village Wasserauen. It belongs to Appenzell Innerrhoden municipality Schwende. The idyllic mountain lake in the Alpstein area is fed by Schwendibach, which flows off the same name at the northern tip of the lake. The maximum depth of the mountain lake is about 15 meters.

The Seealpsee can be walked along the shore in three-quarters of an hour on beautiful alpine meadows. In summer, a cool bath in Seealpsee is a soothing way to refresh yourself. In the warmer months, rowing boats can be rented.
